The Gateway Lochboisdale project funded by Big Lottery Fund (Coastal Communities Fund) and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar has been issued for tender. The Quayside works at Lochboisdale project covers the area of the existing quay at Lochboisdale and will see the area transformed into an attractive recreational area with landscaping, viewpoint, benches and digital information screens. Wednesday 29th July 2015, 7.00pm – 9.00pm at Southend Community Hall, Daliburgh, South Uist.
We at Stòras Uibhist are delighted to see the Salar Smokehouse come back into local ownership and back into production. The Community Fund supported Iain MacRury with a Community Fund award to contribute to his funding package to see this project come to fruition. The assessment panel met in June 2015 and approved this award along with 3 others.

The new facilities at Lochoisdale Harbour (www.Lochboisdaleharbour.com) welcomed 24 boats from the Royal Highland Yacht Club on July 1st and 2nd.
The flotilla of yachts and cruisers arrived from Oban via other Hebridean islands and joined the numerous other boats already in port.
The visiting sailors will be enjoying a bus tour of the island to view the archaeological sites and wildlife, accompanied by local exert
Thank you to all who attended the deer management meeting last night. It was a constructive meeting and the first step in working with the community to produce a deer management plan. The comments from the meeting will be brought to the SnBM Board for further consideration and a minute of the meeting will be available online soon.
